Purpose of the Learnership
The Santam Learnership Programme is designed to:
- Develop young talent in the insurance sector
- Provide practical workplace experience
- Offer accredited financial services training
- Prepare learners for the FSCA Regulatory Exam (RE5)
- Build future professionals within the insurance industry
Learners who successfully complete the programme may qualify for professional membership with the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA).

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Be between 18 and 28 years old
- Be unemployed
- Have a Grade 12 certificate

Have at least:
- 50% for English
- 50% for a Second Language
- 40% for Mathematics OR
- 60% for Mathematical Literacy
- Have less than 1 year of work experience
- Not be studying at another institution during the programme
- Not have completed a previous Short-Term Insurance Learnership through INSETA

- People with a post-matric qualification such as:
- Higher Certificate
- Diploma
- Degree
- Honours
- People currently studying
- People with more than 1 year of work experience
