Purpose of the Internship
The purpose of the People/HR Internship is to support the HR Operations team through administrative and operational assistance while giving interns exposure to HR systems, processes and workplace operations.
The internship programme helps graduates build both technical and professional skills needed for successful careers in Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform filing and document scanning duties.
- Assist with HR administration and preparation of HR documentation.
- Support onboarding processes for new employees.
- Assist with employee queries and HR support activities.
- Provide HR systems administration support using systems such as Axio, Greenhouse and internal platforms.
- Assist with payroll administration tasks including UI-19 forms, IRP5s and employment confirmations.
- Support HR communications such as new starter emails.
- Assist with CCMA-related matters.
- Support HR projects and operational initiatives.
Minimum Requirements / Eligibility
Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
- Completed N6 in Human Resources or a related qualification.
Technical Skills Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong administration and data capturing skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of South African labour legislation including BCEA, LRA, EEA and SDA.
- Knowledge of HR functions such as recruitment, training and labour relations.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
