Admission Requirements
New Senior Certificate (From 2008)
- Grade 12 with NQF Level 4 qualification
- English: Level 4
- Mathematics Literacy: Level 4 OR Mathematics: Level 3
- Life Sciences or Physical Science: Level 3
- Minimum 19 APS points (20 if Mathematical Literacy is used)
- Computer Literacy (NQF Level 3) recommended
Old Senior Certificate (Before 2008)
- English: HG D or SG C
- Biology or Physical Science: HG E or SG D
- Mathematics: HG E or SG D
- Minimum aggregate of 950 marks or higher
- Computer Literacy recommended
National Vocational Certificate (NCV)
- English: Level 5
- Life Sciences or Physical Science: Level 4
- Mathematics: Level 4 OR Mathematical Literacy: Level 5
- Minimum 24 APS points (25 if Mathematical Literacy is used)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Applicants who do not meet requirements may apply via RPL if they:
- Are 25 years or older
- Have at least 5 years healthcare experience
- Are registered as BAA or AEA with HPCSA
- Pass RPL assessment (theory and clinical)

Rules and Requirements
- Minimum 50% pass mark per module
- Clinical competency must be achieved
- Minimum 42-hour weekly training requirement
- No permanent night duty allowed
- Sick leave and rotation-based leave provided
- Portfolio of evidence required for completion
