Overview
The Reception and Administrative Support Officer provides professional front-desk services and administrative assistance to ensure smooth operations at Services SETA offices. This role maintains a welcoming environment for visitors, supports internal staff, and assists in project-related tasks across various locations.
Purpose
To uphold Services SETAβs image through professional reception management, efficient administration, and support of office and project functions, ensuring that all processes align with corporate standards and values.

This position is essential for maintaining a professional and organized office environment, facilitating stakeholder engagements, and supporting project coordination. The role ensures that visitors, staff, and partners experience efficient, courteous, and effective service.
Focus Areas / Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and welcoming reception area, adhering to Services SETA corporate values and ethics.
- Welcome visitors, offer refreshments, and provide assistance as required.
- Keep visitors informed of waiting times and provide general support to walk-ins.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, tidy, and well-maintained; report and follow up on maintenance issues.
- Attend to incoming calls promptly, route calls to the appropriate staff, and manage messages efficiently.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of minor office equipment issues.
- Photocopy, scan, file, bind, and distribute documentation as requested.
- Receive and dispatch courier packages.
- Collate information for reporting purposes.
- Support Services SETA projects by scheduling monitoring, evaluation, and induction visits, preparing site visit reports, and assisting with project-related clerical functions.
- Assist with outreach and stakeholder engagements, both on-site and off-site.
Minimum Requirements / Eligibility
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent certification (minimum NQF 4).
- National Diploma or equivalent qualification (NQF 6) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, Human Resources, or related field.
