Overview
The Skills Development & Administration Internship Programme offers graduates practical workplace experience within a SETA-aligned environment. The programme focuses on supporting skills development initiatives, accreditation processes, quality assurance, and departmental administration.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this internship is to assist in coordinating skills development programmes, managing learner information, supporting accreditation processes, and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the department.
Importance of the Role
This role plays an important part in strengthening skills development initiatives by ensuring compliance with SETA guidelines, maintaining accurate learner records, supporting quality assurance processes, and promoting effective programme implementation.
Focus Areas / Key Responsibilities
1. Skills Development Coordination
- Assist in coordinating skills development programmes in alignment with Services SETA guidelines.
- Support planning, organizing, and monitoring of training activities and workshops.
- Assist in organizing stakeholder meetings, forums, and events.
2. Learner & Data Management
- Collect and compile data related to skills development programmes and learner outcomes.
- Process learner information onto the Learner Management System.
- Compile and submit reports on project implementation.
- Provide monthly learner statistics reports.
3. Accreditation & Quality Assurance Support
- Assist in the evaluation and accreditation of training providers.
- Prepare and maintain accreditation documentation.
- Assist in the issuance and verification of certificates.
- Maintain records of certified individuals and organisations.
- Support quality assurance processes.
- Assist in the evaluation and approval of workplace training environments.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to workplace approvals.
4. Administrative & Office Support
- Provide administrative support to ensure smooth running of the department.
- Coordinate office operations and logistics for meetings, workshops, and events.
- Answer calls and handle enquiries professionally.
- Process travel-related documents.
- Maintain records and database of service providers.
- Develop and maintain a filing system.
- Maintain departmental records and correspondence.
- Ensure delivery of important documents on behalf of the department.
- Assist with meeting agenda compilation and distribution.
- Communicate changes to scheduled meetings timeously to stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements / Eligibility
- National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4).
- National Diploma or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 6) in:
- Business Administration
- Public Administration
- Office Administration
- Project Management
- Human Resources
- Or a related field
