Wabtec is offering an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing Intern to join its Supply Chain team. This internship provides hands-on experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations within a global manufacturing environment.
Purpose of the Role
The Sourcing Intern will support the Sourcing team in identifying, evaluating, and onboarding suppliers, managing sourcing documentation, and assisting with cost analysis and supplier performance tracking.
This role is designed to provide practical exposure to strategic sourcing processes within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in supplier research, evaluation, and selection processes.
- Support the preparation of Request for Quotations (RFQs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), and Request for Information (RFIs).
- Support supplier management activities.
- Assist in onboarding new suppliers.
- Maintain and update supplier databases and sourcing documentation.
- Participate in cost analysis and benchmarking activities.
- Track and report on supplier performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, logistics, sales, and finance.
- Assist in preparing sourcing reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement standards.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- 3-Year Tertiary Qualification (Degree/Diploma) in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Business Administration.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of operational functions and cross-functional interdependencies.
