Overview
Rock Processing, part of the Sandvik Group, is a leading supplier of equipment, tools, parts, service, and solutions for processing rock and minerals in the mining and construction industries. We are looking for a motivated and efficient HR Intern to join our Human Resources team in Spartan, Kempton Park, South Africa, for a 24-month internship. This role is ideal for recent HR graduates seeking practical experience across core HR functions.
Role Purpose
The HR Intern will report to the HR Manager and provide support across recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, skills development, labour relations, and Employment Equity. This role offers hands-on exposure to all key HR processes and mentoring to help build a strong foundation for a long-term career in HR.
Importance
This internship allows participants to gain practical HR experience, develop professional competencies, and contribute to the efficient functioning of the HR team. Interns will support compliance, administration, and employee engagement initiatives that are critical to organizational success.
Key Responsibilities / Focus Areas
- Assist with recruitment administration, interview scheduling, and reference checks.
- Support onboarding, induction preparation, and maintaining employee files.
- Update HR registers, trackers, and training records.
- Assist with Skills Development and merSETA evidence collection.
- Support Employment Equity (EE) Committee administration and data updates.
- Prepare documentation for HR processes and compliance.
- Assist with payroll input verification and employee query logging.
- Provide general HR administrative support to the team.
Minimum Requirements / Eligibility
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
