Virtual Resource | Workday Internship Programme Now Open

In order to qualify as a VR Intern we don’t necessarily require Workday HCM experience, rather we are looking for a specific type of candidate we can train to use Workday during our Internship programme.

Typically we are looking for experienced professionals looking to pivot their career, who are loyal, logical problem solvers and are highly computer proficient, can self-manage, are quick learners with a ‘can do’ attitude.

About This Internship

Summary

This internship provides hands-on experience in Workday HCM, allowing interns to pivot their careers into the HR technology and consulting space. Interns will be trained to use Workday tools while working in a flexible, remote environment with exposure to client projects and cross-functional teams.

Purpose

To develop skilled VR consultants capable of leveraging Workday HCM solutions to drive HR process improvements and support client objectives, while gaining practical consulting experience in a virtual work environment.

Importance

This internship prepares professionals for future roles in Workday HCM consulting by providing structured training, hands-on experience, and exposure to real-world client environments.

Job Requirements

  • Experienced professionals looking to pivot their career.
  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with strong systems knowledge and formal IT qualifications or certifications.
  • Analytical thinkers and data enthusiasts with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to see the big picture.
  • Fluent in English (writing, reading, speaking).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy and Excel proficiency.
  • Based in South Africa.
  • College or University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Skills & Beneficial Experience

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SuccessFactors, Peoplesoft, SAP).
  • Exposure to Workday tools such as Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connections, and APIs.
  • Software design courses.
  • Project management courses (e.g., PRINCE2).
  • Human Resource work experience.
  • Customer Service work experience.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Fully remote, connecting with clients and team members via IM, video calls, and ticketing systems.
  • Ability to self-manage while meeting objectives and client demands.
  • Strong time management skills and proactive communication are essential.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and align HR/business knowledge with Workday functionality.
